Sabbatical leave applications are filed online within Workflow in Watermark's Faculty Success. Faculty must file their application by October 1.***

Details about filing an application for a sabbatical leave are given in "Sabbatical Leave Policies and Procedures." If you have questions, you may contact the Chair of the Faculty Senate Personnel Committee or the Vice Provost for Faculty Affairs.

How to Submit Your Application: Contact Institutional Research and Analysis (IRA) at institutionalresearch@du.edu to request a sabbatical leave application. IRA will open an application to be filed in Watermark's Faculty Success. You will receive an email from Watermark when your application has been opened. Please request applications at least one week in advance of the October 1 deadline.

Understanding Salary Implications: Per the Sabbatical Leave Policies and Procedures, your salary may be impacted by the duration of your sabbatical.

• If you are only taking one quarter or semester for sabbatical, your salary is not reduced. You will receive your full salary.
• If you take two or more quarters or semesters of leave, salary will be reduced across the entire year.
  • For law faculty, salary will be reduced from August 1 until July 31 (reflected on your September 1 through August 1 paychecks).
  • For all other faculty, salary will be reduced from September 1 until August 31 (reflected on your October 1 through September 1 paychecks).

Following the policy, please take note: if your sabbatical is longer than one quarter or semester, regardless of the academic terms of the sabbatical leave, your salary will be reduced for the full year.
