Community Support and Engagement
Starting the New Academic Year with DU’s New Division: Community Support and Engagement
Welcome to the Â鶹Çø’s new Division of Community Support and Engagement. We are happy to begin this new academic year and to continue elevating DU’s commitments to its values—particularly inclusiveness—through action, engagement, and collaboration. Plenty of familiar faces compose this new division. Colleagues who have been engaged across the university in efforts to build bridges and to foster inclusion for all are serving as staff of the division or as collaborative partners in adjacent units.
The Division of Community Support and Engagement is dedicated to cultivating an inclusive environment here at DU, where every individual feels they can thrive in their full humanity. We will work towards fostering for every member of the DU community a sense of belonging, support, and connection through collaborative engagement and holistic support. While there have been some organizational shifts, we want all in the DU community to know that this new division and its members, along with the University, remain committed to providing opportunities for meaningful connections and support to students, faculty, and staff.
As we continue to give more information about this new division and navigate existing and new ways of connecting community members and groups, learning across differences, building bridges, and providing support, we are deeply interested in dialogue with our University community. So, we will aim to reach out to hear from you. In the meantime, don’t hesitate to contact us with questions, concerns, or if you want to get involved with our efforts as they continue to come together for the good of all here at DU. As is the case for the entire University, we are dedicated to creating spaces and opportunities where all feel included and welcomed to fully engage. Be they individuals, organizations, informal collections of colleagues, or affinity groups that are long standing or new, we are here to listen and to support.
Thank you for your interest in our division and our work. Also, thank you for the care you have for the entire DU community.
In solidarity,
Christopher M. Whitt, Ph.D.
Vice Chancellor of Community Support and EngagementÌý
